That was then, this is now.

That was then, this is now. Circuit City announced plans to go out of business and liquidate on January 16, 2009, the same day as my mothers 50th birthday. I couldn’t even wish my mother a happy birthday that day because I was so upset. That night, I ended up sitting at the kitchen table staring at my food while my mother sat next to me feeling sorry. I worked for Circuit City/Firedog for nearly two years fixing and repairing consumer PCs, just to lose it all in a day. But that was then, this is now. I now work for them.

This picture is a representation of my employment then and now, and how they share similar traits toward each other. It also goes out to all the people who work for them now because of what happened on January 16, 2009.

This picture can also be found on my deviantART.

My resignation letter, so long Circuit City.

Wow, it’s been so long since I posted anything on my blog. I promise, I’ll work hard on my site and post up some interesting stuff in the future. But for now, here’s a video rant. A vrant.

Also, I was browsing through Gizmodo and found a posted story of an employee’s final days at Circuit City. Now, I’m not the type that likes to read long stories and whatnot, but it’s like the further I read, the more harder it hit me. I can totally relate to this guy. All the stuff he’s been through, I’ve had my own fair share too. All I can say is wow.  If you were a Circuit City employee, and you actually cared about the company like we did, you should probably give this a good read.

Final Days at Circuit City

Circuit City + Bankruptcy = :\

Nov 13, 2008   //   by Ruiz   //   life, vlog  //  7 Comments

ccity Yeah, that’s right Circuit City is now officially bankrupt. They filed for Chapter 11 bankruptcy so that vendors didn’t threaten to stop sending shipments. I mean, they only owe nearly $300,000,000 to vendors such as HP, Samsung, and Sony. On top of that, I heard that Sony stopped shipping to Circuit City about a week ago. This is definitely not good for the upcoming holiday season. And what a coincidence, we get a power outage the day after. It was just our store too, neither the Dicks Sporting Goods next door nor any other stores in the area were affected. I mean, what’s up with that? Did Circuit City forget to pay the electricity bill too? The power came up about thirty minutes later, but it took over two hours to open the store back up. And to finish it off, my PIC (Partner in Crime) Dylan transfered to another store, so that leaves only two technicians working at our store. I mean, I care about this company and I don’t want to see it fall, but there’s nothing I can do. All I can do is keep working and hope for the best. I might need to find another job as backup, just incase Circuit City does permanently close it’s doors. As much as I loathe the Geek Squad, I’ll switch over if I have to…

Crazy Circuit City Girl

Oct 1, 2008   //   by Ruiz   //   random  //  3 Comments

Somebody appears be verrry excited about our new City store and just wants to show some love, lol. This is what happens when our manager puts crazy music on the display computers. A little girl decides to have some fun on one of our HP TouchSmart computers. You can see the guests in the background giving odd looks as they pass by, like “WTF is she doing??”. It’s funny because I don’t think she knew the computer was recording her until the end, haha. If we get more people to do this, I’ll make a montage!! :D
