Iuvo is a web application that allows students to track the progress of their degree plan. The application was programmed using Python and the Django web framework. The project was a team project for CSCE 315 during the Spring 2013 semester at Texas A&M University. Though we were given an entire month to work on the project, most of the development occurred during the final week. (We’re still students, you know!) My focus was centered more toward the heart of the project, which involved creating the entire user interface and working other team members in order to have their features added to the project.
The biggest challenge for our team was coding in a language that none of us were familiar with. We were discouraged from using languages that commonly used, such as C++ and Java. We spent the first two weeks of the project becoming familiar with Python and wrapping our heads around the Django framework.
– A programming language that lets you work more quickly and integrate your systems more effectively.
– A high-level Python Web framework that encourages rapid development and clean, pragmatic design.
– An intelligent schema and data migrations for Django projects.
– A sleek, intuitive, and powerful front-end framework for faster web development.
